Please make sure that the modem is connected to the phone lines correctly, and check that the modem cable and the modem power cord are securely attached to the correct locations. Try to re-connect. |

If that doesn't work, reboot your computer - turn it off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on again. Try to re-connect. |

Check your dial-up network and make sure that dial-up networking is installed. Try to re-connect. Windows 98: Click My Computer. If Dial-Up Networking is displayed in the list, you are configured. Windows ME/2000: Click My Computer > Setttings > Network and Internet Connections. If Dial-Up Networking is displayed in the list, you are configured. Windows XP: Click Start > My Computer > My Network Places > View network connections. If a Dial-Up option is displayed in the window, you are configured. |

If you still can't connect, and you feel confident enough, run a modem diagnostics program to check your modem. Your modem should provide software to help diagnose problem s with the modem. |
